January 2023

Best of 2022 is kind of a misnomer. That year SUCKED. I was unemployed, looking for work and had little extra to spend on trips for photoshoots, and little inspiration to shoot locally. It was a bad space. So the pickings are sparse for that year.

Even the Fleet Week Airshow was a bust with the weather preempting any flying except for the formation of a few pelicans. The first time I got skunked for weather at the Air Show, typical of my luck in 2022. This shot of the pelicans was a nice bonus on a not so great photoshoot.

I did motivate myself to get up to the Great Highway and the western edge of Golden Gate Park where the windmills are. I struggled to find a composition and finally settled on waiting for the crows to light and perch on the windmill's wings.

Turning toward the Pacific Ocean that forms a western border for San Francisco, The sunset was gorgeous. A lone kite surfer skimmed up and down the beach. And in the end, the clouds conspired to create a fire breathing dragon.

2023 has gotten off to a better start, new job and new inspiration. Watch this space!
