A better perspective

A day off was the perfect reason to head to the coast for a road trip/photoshoot. Destination: Sonoma coast, because the weather seemed more promising. But by the time we passed through the town of Bodega, the fog appeared. Lapping right on the edge of the shoreline. And then we noticed it moving in and out like waves. The ocean waves that day were shallow and weak. Not like the more dramatic waves I’ve captured at Bodega Head in the past.

When I’ve encountered conditions that were below expectations, I have called the results lemonade. You know, when life gives you lemons… But it was pointed out to me that that description had a kind of negative connotation. Wait? What? I like Lemonade. Ah but, try looking at those days like Forrest Gump. Mama always said, “Life is like a box of chocolates… Ok Ok, yeah I like chocolate better.

You never know what you’re gonna get. I like what I got that day. And the serendipitous view we got at the end of the day was the most special. Looking down the coast from a view on Seaview Road above Fort Ross, the best.
